The sheriff whose department is investigating Prince’s death said there were no signs of violent injury to the singer’s body and no indication that he committed suicide.

Olsen reveals that somebody dropped Prince off at home about 8 p.m. the night prior to being found, but adds that it’s not unusual for him to be by himself, “he’s a very private person”. Staff members became concerned when they could not reach Prince that morning, according to Olson, and they alerted authorities.

In light of reports that Prince possibly suffered from a drug overdose or the complications of a previous drug overdose, Olson said that he wouldn’t comment on any medications Prince was taking, nor his health. To us, he was a community member and a good neighbor. She said the results from the autopsy could take days or weeks.

Spokeswoman Martha Weaver said on behalf of the chief medical examiner they received a call at 10:20 a.m.to assist officials and arrived at 11:30 a.m.

“There were no obvious signs of trauma on the body”, Olson told a news conference.

Earlier Friday, the Midwest Medical Examiners Office announced Prince’s autopsy was complete.

The Midwest Medical Examiners Office confirmed to ET that Prince’s autopsy was completed on Friday in Carver County, Minnesota.

His body has now been released to his family but a cause of death may not be made public for weeks.

Prince hosted a dance party two days later at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota.

He was pronounced dead after EMTs failed to resuscitate him with CPR.

County Sheriff Jim Olson will be answering questions about the investigation in a press conference later today. He also called Prince’s death “unwitnessed”, which is why they processed the crime scene using a crime lab.

The pop music icon was found collapsed and unresponsive in an elevator on the building’s first floor.

The statement said the “final storage” of Prince’s remains would be private and that a musical celebration would be held at a future date.
