“I want to make it clear that the Government of India does not only want to have a relationship based on needs with Kashmir but, an emotional relationship”, he said.

At least 49 people have been killed in clashes in Indian-administered Kashmir following the death of popular young rebel commander Burhan Wani in a gunfight with security forces on July 8.

Singh, who was accompanied by his Home Secretary and Joint Secretary, asked Pakistan “not to interfere in Kashmir”.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday chaired a high level meeting to take stock of the situation in the violence-torn state, as clashes continue between security forces and locals.

“I appeal to the youth of Kashmir not to indulge in stonepelting and security forces should avoid use of pellet guns as far as possible”, he said. Pakistan’s role isn’t ‘pak’ (pure) in relation to Kashmir. “They must change their attitude and mindset vis-a-vis Jammu and Kashmir…” When asked whether GoI will apologize to victim families, he said, “we have expressed regret”.

Rejecting any third power intervention in solving Kashmir problem, he said, “GoI is clear on it”.

“As per the programme, glowing tributes will be paid to the recent martyrs and all the martyrs of Kashmir’s resistance movement at the historic Lal Chowk in Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Monday”, they said in a statement.

“If there is any disagreement, it can be resolved through mutual dialogue”, Singh told reporters at Technical Airport before flying off to Delhi after concluding his two-day visit to Srinagar.

The alliance ridiculed allegations that the violence is being instigated by Pakistan. The Congress stayed away from deliberations with the home minister. To a question on whether there will be any talks with separatists, Singh said, “Let normalcy and peace be restored first”. “Every effort will be taken in the future in consultation with the state government, once the normalcy is restored”, he said. Suspected militants also hurled a grenade at the station, resulting in six cops being injured, including Ahmad.

He said the trade bodies have demanded that security officials should be made accountable for the killing of civilians and pellet guns banned.

Singh said that GoI has taken decisions as how to engage Kashmiri youth and “CM is in know-how of it”. “This should stop”, he said, asserting that the government will not tolerate terrorism in any form.

I have conveyed to Jammu And Kashmir Chief Minister that if need be, the injured can be sent to Delhi.

He urged the central government to take immediate measures “which can treat the wounds and address the injured psyche of Kashmiris”.
