Award-winning director Ken Loach made a documentary about Jeremy Corbyn

THERE will be no breakaway from the Labour Party if Jeremy Corbyn wins re-election on Saturday, the party’s only Scottish MP has insisted.

A video in support of Jeremy Corbyn’s reelection as head of the British Labour Party was withdrawn after Jewish leaders complained that it made light of allegations of anti-Semitism within the party.

Leader Jeremy Corbyn and challenger Owen Smith have made their final pitches to Labour MPs and supporters, with the polls having closed at noon.

Ms Chapman, speaking to Emma Barnett, who was hosting 5 Live Daily for the first time on the station, also questioned whether Mr Corbyn had the necessary leadership skills for such a job.

“That is only half the story”.

“Stop obsessing about the party issues and devote your considerable talent and experience to the one thing that really matters – the fast-approaching catastrophe of Brexit”, pleaded commentator Polly Toynbee in The Guardian, a newspaper read by many Labour supporters.

The president of the International Rescue Committee is particularly critical of the Labour leader’s “egregious” stance on foreign policy.

John Mann said Mr Smith was the “wrong man” to challenge the veteran left-winger and argued his “predictable” campaign to seize the leadership hit too many “bum notes”.

‘Nationalisation cannot be the answer to everything; anti-austerity speeches cannot explain everything; corporate taxation cannot pay for everything.

“It doesn’t add up”.

“But he does want to appoint people and get then back to work and is trying to strongarm and persuade MPs back with a series of bi-lateral meetings”.

The former North East MP said voters would “see through” Jeremy Corbyn’s policies because they don’t make sense.

David Miliband has lashed out at Labour’s leadership saying the party has “never been further from power”.

He has instead suggested a system where party members would also have a say on shadow cabinet elections.

“He will get a shadow cabinet together but without elections it won’t be the best or the most balanced”.

Voting ended on Wednesday and the result will be announced at the party’s annual conference on Saturday. The theory goes: if we show how much in common we all have with Corbyn’s politics the membership will overturn its hard left idol and join with us in the task of getting more votes than the Tories. “A choice that will not just determine the future of our party, but the future of the millions of people in Britain who need Labour in power”, he said. “Anything else would be destructive self-indulgence”.

His deputy Tom Watson instead wants MPs to be given more of a say in appointments to the shadow cabinet in a bid to heal the rift between the two sides.

Mr Smith told the BBC News Channel: “I don’t think he can rebuild Labour’s reputation in the country, so I won’t be serving in Jeremy’s cabinet. If I am re-elected leader, I will reach out and work with all Labour MPs to form a broad and effective opposition to this divisive and floundering Tory government”, he said.
