Ayaz Sadiq re-elected as National Assembly speaker
PML-N Sources said, besides strategy for election of NA speaker, PM Nawaz and Ayaz Sadiq also discussed party matters and prevailing situation in the country.

After announcement of the result, Acting Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbassi administed oath to the newly elected Speaker.
ISLAMABAD: Ayaz Sadiq, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate has been sworn in as the speaker of the National Assembly after being elected Monday.

He said MQM also admires Shafqat Mehmood for maintaining the democratic tradition.
“I am also thankful to all PTI members who voted their conscience and empowered democracy by being a part of this process”.
According to the sources, the PML-N has the support of majority of the parliamentary parties and its nominated candidate is expected to be re-elected as National Assembly Speaker.
On the other hand, Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is backing Ayaz Sadiq due to his previous performance.
Sadiq had conquered Imran Khan during the 2013 surveys, and recently reclaimed his seat by contesting against the Aleem Khan in the NA 122 of PTI by -polls.

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said participation of PTI in National Assembly Speaker’s elections has proved its acceptance of NA-122 results.
