Ayesha Curry: Don’t compare me to LeBron’s wife
The setup: Smith called out Ayesha Curry, Steph’s wife, for her “rigged” tweet during Game 6.

Ayesha Curry had a major case of Twitter fingers Thursday night and she continued it into the next day when ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith told her to be less erratic on social media. She doesn’t bring any attention to herself. “Just saw it live sry”, she tweeted, as quoted by the Hollywood Life. “But she thinks about how she represents him and as a result she doesn’t do that”. It’s giving you an example of what may work, and what you might want to avoid like she’s avoiding it, before the media and everybody else uses your tweet as a tool to attack you and possibly your husband.
@stephenasmith why are you putting two women against each other like that?
Savannah Brinson and LeBron James attend The Juice Foundation Reception and Fashion Show at W South Beach Hotel & Residences on October 27, 2012 in Miami Beach, Florida.
Ayesha Curry has made herself a divisive public figure, and now the wife of Warriors star Stephen Curry has to deal with all the stupidity that comes with that.
Ayesha Curry caught wind of Smith’s opinion, and tweeted her retort on why he feels it’s necessary to compare her reactions to James’ wife. “You’re the one that’s out of pocket”. I would never, ever, disrespect the wife of a player. In addition to garden-variety sexist crap like suggesting a German soccer team missed blocking a goal by Norway because they were concerned about “mess[ing] their hair”, Smith has also been quick to dismiss criticism of boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., who has a history of gruesome domestic violence, and suggested that in the case of Ray Rice’s abuse of his wife, we really need to examine “elements of provocation”.
Ayesha Curry and Savannah Brinson are their own people and can do whatever they want. That’s all I’m saying.

Smith subsequently answered back that Curry’s outspoken presence is putting her husband in a risky position.
