They put out the call for any doctors on board and thankfully three, all from the same family, were there to help the mother through the delivery.
On a recent Jetstar flight between Singapore and Myanmar, a pregnant woman named Saw Ler Htu unexpectedly went into labor-the airline’s regulations allow women less than 40 weeks pregnant on flights lasting four hours or less. But in the mother’s eyes, it was the Jet Star crew that were the real heroes.
Fortunately, there were three doctors on board who helped the airline crew guide the woman through pregnancy and safely deliver her 6lb.
Baby “Jet Star” has been proudly named after the airlines onboard which he was born.
The crew and doctors were still getting ready to move the mother when she gave birth on the plane.
The mom and baby were both doing well and had been discharged from hospital.
According to the airline, which posted pictures of the newborn to its social media page, the mother made a decision to name him Saw Jet Star because of the great care she received from the airline.
‘The happy arrival of baby Jet Star was met with a round of applause from other passengers on the plane, so we’re sure it’s not a moment they’ll ever forget either!’ the spokesperson said.

Jetstar announced the news via their Facebook page and said that they would donate SGD1,000 worth of baby supplies to the family as a thank-you.
