Baby removed uninjured from Niagara Falls hotel safe
Police and federal agents in the United States and Canada are searching for a Brooklyn family whose infant child was discovered locked in a safe in a hotel room on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls on Tuesday. A maintenance worker entered the room and freed the infant, who was alert and crying.

A short time later, people identifying themselves as family members arrived at the room, took the baby, and fled.
The parents left the scene before police were notified. Amanda Sanders said. “But that’s why we want to reach the family, to find out what happened and make sure the baby is OK”.
There is no information about why the baby was locked in the safe.
It’s believed the family had difficulty communicating with hotel staff.
“But, they did notify us and we’ve been all over it all day”. The New Jersey licence plate associated with the guests is a B31EUB and is registered to a 2015 grey Ford van.
He said he believes it was a floor safe. He said this type of event is rare and the investigation is ongoing.
Asked what he thought of the incident, Kraushar said: “This is a new one for me”.
He also said it was unclear whether there were other children in the room.
