Along with male security guards and retired army personnel, female commandos have also been deployed in the university to guard each nook and corner of the university.

“After taking whatever security measures were possible for protection of students and faculty members, we opened the university today for classes”, Marwat said.
The Bacha Khan University in Charsadda reopened on Monday after a 26-day hiatus owing to security concerns following a terror attack on campus that left 21 students and a staff member dead and many injured.
The attackers managed to kill 22 people, mostly students, and injure another 60 before they themselves were killed by Pakistani security forces.
On Jan. 20, four heavily-armed militants stormed the campus in KP’s Charsadda district, located some 40 kilometers from provincial capital Peshawar.
Last week a government-run girls’ college in Rawalpindi evacuated hundreds of students following an exchange of gunfire between police and vehicle thieves nearby.
“We have come to the university today with a firm commitment to uphold sacrifices of our fellow students”, said Rehmat Ullah, 20, a student of Bio-technology department.
Two women university employees will also be tasked with keeping an eye on female students, he said.
Officials have said that the attack on BKU was planned and controlled from Afghanistan as the phone call of commander Omer Mansoor, who later claimed responsibility, was made from Afghanistan.
He said in a video last month that instead of targeting professional soldiers, “we will target the nurseries that produce these people”. They had entered Pakistan from Afghanistan via the Torkhum border.
Overall levels of violence have fallen since a concerted military push against the Taliban’s bases that began in 2014.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Mushtaq Ghani also visited the university and held a meeting with the vice-chancellor after inspecting the security situation.
