Back to the Future Came to Georgetown, Delaware

Christopher Lloyd, who played Emmett “Doc” Brown, said he didn’t really follow the predictions, except for that one.

The New York Mets defeated the Cubs 8-3 Wednesday in the National League Championship Series.

In the middle of Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue, a DeLorean appeared and Michael J. Fox, along with Christopher Lloyd, popped out to reprise their roles for the audience on Back To The Future Day – signifying the point in time that Marty traveled to in BTTF2 (Oct. 21, 2015).

The pair, totally in character then proceed to ask Jimmy what life is like in 2015 and where the hoverboards and flying cars are.

But were these futuristic predictions so far off from where we actually are today?!

For anyone who doesn’t know (shame on you!), “Back To The Future” saw an ordinary high school boy travel into 1955 with a mysterious scientist in a DeLorean, before being stranded with the sole task of getting his parents together to ensure his future birth.

In California, where the movies were filmed, a few 200 fans, many dressed up as Marty or Doc Brown, gathered at a Burger King fast-food restaurant where the young hero grabs onto a pick-up to speed his skateboard ride to school.

“Back To The Future 2” had predicted technology ideas twenty six years after it was released in 1989.

We loved the Back To The Future sketch on Jimmy Kimmel Live, but we’re sad for this special day to end, so it’s definitely bittersweet.

I had a blast (from the past) attending the Wellington screening of Back to the Future II at the Reading Theatre last week.
