Backed Syrian rebels responsible for toxic shells in Aleppo: Russia
Syria Government forces have advanced on Aleppo in recent weeks, imposing a siege on the opposition-held eastern part of the city since early last month.

Egeland said that in July alone, 44 attacks on hospitals, clinics and health posts around Syria were reported.
The assault began on Sunday and is meant to ease the encirclement of the opposition-held east of Aleppo city, where an estimated 250,000 residents have been under regime siege since July 17.
Syrian government forces launched air strikes against six hospitals in the Aleppo area within a week in attacks that amounted to war crimes, a USA -based rights group said on Wednesday.
“There are tit-for-Tat attacks in all areas across south-western Aleppo, amid dozens of Russian strikes on areas which were taken by the rebels”, Kenan, an activist based in the rebel-held Salaheddine neighbourhood of Aleppo, told dpa via Facebook.
Fighters and residents inside the besieged city, including children, recently began burning tires in an attempt to hinder aerial attacks as they launched a fierce offensive against government forces.
Russian Federation has waged an air campaign against insurgents in support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad since September.
Several Syrian opposition groups are embedded with Nusra, and Kerry said Washington had a responsibility to control them, while Russian Federation has to control Assad.
It was Syria’s commercial hub until 2012, when clashes left it roughly divided between government troops in the west and rebels in the east.
Eastern districts came under government siege on July 17, sparking concerns for the estimated 250,000 people still living there.
Earlier this year, the Syrian-American Medical Society (SAMS) said chemical weapons attacks have killed almost 1,500 people since civil war broke out in Syria more than five years ago.
Last week Russian Federation announced the opening of “humanitarian corridors” to allow residents and surrendering fighters to flee for government-held territory.
But government forces have mounted a fierce fight back, retaking several positions from beleaguered rebels, a monitor said Wednesday.
The observatory said at least 30 civilians had also been killed since Sunday in opposition bombardment of government-held southwestern districts of Aleppo.
And pro-government website al-Masdar News said an initial rebel advance into the Ramussa district was pushed back “following a long and gruesome battle”.
A doctor in Saraqeb who told CNN he treated some of those affected said their symptoms were consistent with chlorine poisoning. However, army officials reported that their forces were able to repel the attack and kill “hundreds of insurgents”.
Aleppo, once Syria’s most populated city, now holds 300,000 people, including approximately 100,000 children.

However, the Syrian Center for Policy Research, an NGO formerly based in Damascus, has put the total death toll from conflict at more than 470,000.
