Backlash over Cosmopolitan’s Kardashian cover
The Kardashian-Jenner family is gracing the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine’s 50th anniversary issue.

The cover features family matriarch Kris Jenner surrounded by her daughters – Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as her youngest, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
According to MTV.com, the last time that the ladies had their shared magazine cover was with Redbook where they were all dressed in white, too.
“America’s first family”, as dubbed by the magazine, lounges in front of a gray background in oversized shirts, their gams covered only with what appears to be a thick sheen of moisturizer.
The Kardashian family helped the publication celebrate its big milestone by posing for a stylish 16-page spread.
Says Ryan Seacrest, Keeping Up With The Kardashians‘ executive producer, “Their unvarnished candor reveals how close they really are”.

There’s already been a fair amount of backlash against Cosmo’s decision to name the Kardashians America’s First Family. “The echo of ‘Kim, Kim, Kim.’ I think they were so happy to have their queen on their land”, Khloe said.
“[The Kardashians] are a huge cultural phenomenon”, the Cosmo spokesman went on.
The Kardashians sprawl across Cosmopolitan Magazine’s November cover under the headline “America’s First Family”, causing outrage on Twitter and among editors of black-oriented media and websites.

So yeah, maybe it seems outrageous to call the Kardashians the “First Family”, and maybe it sort of is. McGahan asked. “Though the official title will forever belong to the presidential kin, in this moment, in celebrity culture, that label perfectly describes the Kardashian-Jenner family”. The majority of readers are simply angry over their belief that the comparison does a major disservice to the Obamas-they want POTUS and his family members to get the respect they deserve.
