Badgers upset fifth ranked LSU at Lambeau
LSU tailback Leonard Fournette hurt his ankle on a 15-yard run on the Tigers’ final drive for a first down at the Wisconsin 30 with just over a minute to play and Wisconsin leading 16-14.

Making his first start at quarterback for Arkansas, Allen finished 20-of-29 passing for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns along with two interceptions. Junior Malachi Dupre, from New Orleans, was LSU’s top receiver in 2015, catching 43 throws for 698 yards and six touchdowns.
Two years ago, the Badgers sent Tanner McEvoy out for his first start against LSU and he wobbled, going just 8-of-24 passes with two interceptions in a loss to the Tigers.
The Badgers still have a very hard schedule ahead of them, but they now have some momentum, as well as the belief that they can win a big game, away from Camp Randall Stadium.
Heavy’s Pick: LSU 30 Wisconsin 17.
“One of the things you always find in your first game is an accurate indicator of who you are at that point, and where you have to go”, Badgers coach Paul Chryst said. Corey Clement will help control the clock for the Badgers, but the absence of Dan Voltz can not be overstated.
Wisconsin’s fans were outnumbered 60 percent to 40 percent, but then LSU likely had a significantly larger talent advantage to no avail.
After maintaining possession for 13:07 in the opening quarter, Wisconsin was in position to break a scoreless tie early in the second quarter. He was under pressure, but had time to settle down and throw the ball away. The big question is can Bart Houston do much for the Badgers in the pass game. On second-and-5, Fournette broke off a 9-yard run to the LSU 44 and eclipsed 3,000 career yards. Few were able to deal with him last season, as he rushed for just under 2,000 yards and had 22 touchdowns.
Two plays later, LSU QB Brandon Harris found Travin Dural for a 10-yard score, and all of a sudden the Tigers were ahead, 14-13.
“It’s so big”, Wisconsin cornerback Sojourn Shelton said.
No. 15 Houston 33, No. 3 Oklahoma 23: In Houston, Brandon Wilson went end line to end zone for a touchdown on an Oklahoma missed field goal and the Cougars beat the Sooners. The Illini (1-0) took a 35-3 halftime lead and were never threatened by the Football Championship Subdivision school.
Wisconsin’s high-ranked defense will have a hard time stopping Fournette on Saturday, but the dynamic of the rushing defense is confident in their preparation for controlling LSU’s rushing offense.
After throwing an interception on his first pass of the game, Speight more than made amends after that, completing 10 of 13 passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Michigan’s rout in front of 110,222 people at Michigan Stadium. The Tigers compounded the poor offensive start with a 25-yard punt to the Wisconsin 42. While playing at Wisconsin-friendly Lambeau Field isn’t easy, Harris and the offensive line had spotty season debuts.
LSU’s Leonard Fournette runs during the first half of an NCAA college football game against Wisconsin Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, in Green Bay, Wis. They held LSU to 64 total yards in the first half and allowed the Badgers offense to overcome three turnovers and still win. You don’t see a Packers game without a Lambeau Leap.
Colby Delahoussaye’s point after touchdown cut LSU’s deficit to 13-7 with 5:28 remaining in the third quarter.

Fournette appeared to recover quickly and was walking around on the sidelines. Here’s how the Tiger stack up against the Badgers.
