Part of a Minneapolis-St. Paul global Airport caused the evacuation of a portion of the Terminal 1 ticketing counter and could delay flights, according to the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

“It was an unattended backpack on one of the airline ticket counters, on the scale”, she said.
An airport spokeswoman says the outside of the bag was swabbed and tested positive for an explosive. The scene was cleared at about 2:30 p.m. and the airport resumed normal operations. The city of Bloomington bomb squad was called in to help.
The entire north end of the ticket area is closed, and patrons flying Spirit, American, United and Frontier airlines or US Airways can not check in.

The scene was cleared and the terminal reopened about 40 minutes later, she said, after no explosives were found.
