Baker Mayfield leads Oklahoma to road win over Baylor
Sanchez contributed a turnover – something Oklahoma hadn’t earned since 2010 against Baylor – to the 44-34 win over No. 6 Baylor.

Sterling Shep- ard had 14 catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns and No. 12 Oklahoma beat No. 4 Baylor 44-34 on Saturday night to end the Bears’ 20-game home winning streak – and likely their national playoff chances.
But like all season, Oklahoma’s catalyst was quarterback Baker Mayfield, who has brought a scrambling, big-play ability and swagger to the Sooners.
Baylor, which travels to Oklahoma State next week, took a huge hit to its chances of making it into college football’s final four.
No. 14 MI State 24, Maryland 7: EAST LANSING, Mich. – Connor Cook left the game at halftime with an apparent shoulder injury for MI State (9-1).
DeShaun Watson had a big day for Clemson with two touchdown passes and 101 yards rushing and a score. He also ran for 74 yards. The Tigers have 34 first-place votes. The Sooners are ready to cast it on the “Virginia Tech over Ohio State” pile of footnotes in national title runs. And the Bears’ loss could be Notre Dame’s gain. In the Big 12’s fast-break style, an offense that sputters leads to a defense that eventually snaps; a few nights, it’s either a shootout or a blowout.
If the Sooners win next week at home against TCU and then in Bedlam against the Cowboys, they would clinch their ninth Big 12 title. “The defense would get stops, and the offense wouldn’t do anything with the ball”. The Bears slipped from No. 4 to No. 10, helping the Cowboys move up a spot. But Hogan’s pass over the middle was broken up by Walker on the conversion attempt.
Vernon Adams Jr. completed 10 of 12 passes for 205 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions for Oregon.
John Wolford scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter for Wake Forest (3-7).
Running back Joe Mixon was dumped for a five-yard loss by nickel back Travon Blanchard on first down, setting up a second-and-15 from the Sooners’ 17. Sophomore running back Samaje Perine had 166 yards and two touchdowns (including a 55-yarder). He’s averaging 312 yards passing per game and has 28 touchdowns against only four interceptions. The offense has been moving the ball and putting pressure on the other team, the way they’re scoring and moving the ball, and defensively, coming up with pressure and turnovers and a lot of good stops.
Burkburnett’s Devin Chafin rushed for 49 yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns for the Bears. The Spartans (9-1) face undefeated Ohio State next Saturday at Columbus. Rudock finished 33 of 46 with 440 yards and six touchdowns, and Jehu Chesson, caught 10 passes for 207 yards and four scores.
MI held off IN to win 48-41 IN a contest that would have gone to triple overtime if Mitchell Paige had not bobbled a fourth-down pass at the goal line. Meanwhile, TCU barely got by Kansas on Saturday, and star quarterback Trevone Boykin left early with an injury.
TCU turned to Green and redshirt freshman Foster Sawyer in the second half to break the game open.
The Buckeyes (10-0, 6-0 Big Ten, No. 3 CFP) started slowly and led 7-3 for much of the first half before Elliott picked up the pace. He had had multiple TD catches in seven straight games.
Maguire, who received much of the blame following last week’s loss to No. 1 Clemson when he was 16 of 29 for 164 yards and an interception, rebounded in a big way.
EVANSTON, Ill. – Running back Justin Jackson broke a tie with a 2-yard touchdown run with 4:37 remaining as Northwestern claimed a victory over Purdue. Baylor appeared to have sacked Mayfield for a sack inside the 10 early in the drive. Three plays later Jackson ran up the middle for the go-ahead score and his second touchdown of the season.

Temple (8-2, 5-1, No. 22 CFP) trimmed its deficit to 11 points in the third quarter, but couldn’t get any closer. Purdue (2-8) suffered its second consecutive loss and seventh in eight games.
