He spoke at a news conference before a Trump rally in Texas.
On Friday, Christie did just that and endorsed the controversial front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.

“At this point, I think any of the candidates are more than capable of beating Hillary Clinton, and that’s all that matters”, he said.
Trump said he and Christie “have had a wonderful relationship for many years” and that he was “proud to receive the support of the Governor and his family”. I’m happy about it. I think Donald Trump is going to clobber Hillary Clinton. They know how to run the standard political playbook against junior senators and run them around the block.
In the second voicemail, Christie mentioned that he wanted to talk about Trump and “the sooner you talk to me, the better”.
Christie’s endorsement came days before Super Tuesday on March 1, when 11 USA states will hold their primaries or caucuses.
While Christie’s own campaign for president failed to gain traction in a crowded field, he nonetheless remains a well-regarded figure in the GOP, having served as a top surrogate to 2012 nominee Mitt Romney and as the former chair of the Republican Governors Association. After Trump claimed that Mexico was sending criminals and rapists across the USA border, Christie called the comments “wholly inappropriate”, but also called Trump “a really wonderful guy [who’s] always been a good friend”.

Chris Christie is the unofficial whack-a-mole of the GOP. “I’m sure they bonded discussing their insecurities over a big meal”, Tim Miller, Bush’s former communications director, wrote on Twitter. Fortunately for Christie, he seems to have found his sweet spot. He blames Rubio’s “super PAC” for halting his momentum in New Hampshire in December with a string of attack ads.
Christie’s move overshadowed them all.

But Mr Rubio, the Florida Senator, continued to lambast Mr Trump the morning after the debate.
