In those seven wins, the team scored 36 runs to help ease the burden on the pitching staff. With the Major League Baseball leader in home runs visiting, it was the Dodgers that displayed some power on Independence Day.

Indians 5, Tigers 3: Mike Napoli hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the seventh inning, and Cleveland remained flawless in 10 games against Detroit Tigers this season. Their hitting has still been somewhat respectable, as they’ve averaged five runs in their last three games, but they have allowed 28 runs.

Manny Machado showed off his prodigious skill set on both offense and defense, delivering the Orioles a 4-1 win over the Dodgers on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium. Tuesday’s loss to the Orioles snapped a 10-game home winning streak for Los Angeles.

INF Pedro Alvarez was placed on the bereavement list Monday and will miss the three-game series against the Dodgers.

Los Angeles’ bullpen bailed out teenage rookie starter Julio Urias with 5 2/3 scoreless innings of two-hit ball.

“It was just good to see us respond”, Roberts said. The right-hander surrendered five hits and two walks, and he struck out two while throwing 100 pitches.

NOTES: The Orioles had five players named to the AL All-Star team. He became the Dodgers’ career saves leader earlier this season. Los Angeles is 48-37 overall, 21-22 on the road and 48-34-3 with the under.

Tillman (11-2) won his fifth consecutive interleague game dating back to July 7, 2014, and the Orioles are 8-0 in his past eight interleague starts. Napoli hit an 0-1 pitch from Bruce Rondon (2-1) into the left-field bleachers, helping the Indians to their 12th straight win at home.

Baltimore evened the score at 1 in the second when Jonathan Scoop hit into an unusual fielder’s choice to score Mark Trumbo, who led off with a walk and advanced to third on a single by Matt Wieters. He needed 73 pitches to get through four innings, and saw runners in scoring position in every inning.
