Baldwin could be game day decision for Seattle
Someone forgot to tell Russell Wilson, who stole the spotlight from an encouraging effort from Christine Michael, tossing three more touchdowns Sunday against the Cleveland Browns and guiding the Seahawks to a 30-13 win.

“The efficiency of the offense is the best it’s been since we’ve been here”, Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. That’s 10 touchdown catches in just a four-week span, something that has never been done in the history of the NFL. Baldwin’s two touchdown receptions Sunday gave him 13 on the season, matching the franchise record set by Daryl Turner in 1985. “I think about all the people that fight for our country and stuff and have to go to Afghanistan, have to go to all these places”, Wilson said. “It isn’t anything special”.
With the win, Seattle clinched a postseason spot for the fourth consecutive year. Suddenly, a team that was maligned, doubted and written off is heading back to the rarified levels of the past two seasons.
Fantasy Impact: Redemption appears to have come, in some modicum, for Michael, who had bounced around the league with minimal success before having the best game of his career against Cleveland on Sunday.
Whereas Manziel’s receivers dropped some critical passes in this game, Wilson’s excelled.
“It’s just a race against time right now”, Carroll said Monday.
“I think we had plenty of opportunities to make the game closer than it was”, Manziel said.
Cleveland had 80 yards on its first possession, but just 150 the remainder of the game.
“Cam did some good things”, Pettine said. “The margin for error versus a team like the Seahawks is slim, and at the end of the day, we weren’t good enough”. Without practicing this week, Lynch will not be ready to play in the Seahawks Week 16 game. One of the chief beneficiaries of QB Russell Wilson’s torrid recent play – he’s thrown 19 touchdowns passes with no interceptions and a 74 percent completion rate over his last five games – Baldwin has posted similarly impressive numbers over the last month or so.
But it was the arm of Wilson that made the difference, hitting Baldwin on a pair of TD throws on consecutive drives in the first half to take a 14-7 lead. Kearse caught seven passes for 110 yards against the Browns. Wilson completed 21 of 30 passes for 249 yards and found Baldwin for two of his three touchdown passes.
Carroll compared Michael’s first go-’round in Seattle to that of a college football player still trying to grow.
Signed by the Broncos as a college free agent in 2011, he is one of just five undrafted cornerbacks in pro football history to make multiple Pro Bowls with his original team. You see that everybody benefits from the overall efficiency of this group.
The Seahawks also have five alternates to the Pro Bowl, which will be played in Honolulu on January 31; defensive end Cliff Avril, wide receiver Doug Baldwin, kicker Steven Hauschka, running back Marshawn Lynch and offensive tackle Russell Okung. He was the leading carrier Sunday against the Browns with 16 totes for 84 yards. Wilson added 46 yards on five attempts.
Mike Pettine felt OK about what the Browns defense accomplished on most of its first and second downs against one of the NFL’s hottest offenses.
Kelcie McCray stepped up big for the defense with Kam Chancellor out for the game.

-RG John Greco (knee) was injured on the second play and did not return. Mora followed that with an uninspiring 5-11 dud with Holmgren’s leftovers, and Mora was summarily replaced by Carroll, who managed to win a playoff game in his first year despite a 7-9 record. Seattle FB Derrick Coleman started the game at running back.
