“Two of the shooters were armed with handguns, and one of the shooters we believe was armed with a long gun of some sort, we believe was a shotgun”, said Commissioner Davis.

Baltimore police said eight people – including a 3-year-old girl – were struck by gunfire Saturday evening in a shooting in the 700 block of Preston St. He even said that he did not misspeak and that is exactly what he meant and wanted to happen to the shooter who shot the three-year-old. The girl was shot in the foot and hospitalized in stable condition.

At about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, police said a 68-year-old man was grazed by a bullet in the 1300 block of East Lanvale Street in the Oliver section of East Baltimore.

Davis, who went to the scene, said the shooting was a premeditated act of retaliatory violence in response to a Labor Day weekend shooting in which a man was fatally shot and two women were wounded, one of them pregnant.

Police say all injuries are non-life threatening. The adults ranged in age from 26 to 39. They used flashlights to search the grassy areas near the scene where the shooting took place. This story will be updated as more information regarding either the victims or the gunmen becomes available.
