Bandmate arrested in musician Scott Weiland’s death investigation
Scott Weiland, lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver and Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts, was found dead in his tour bus.

The cocaine was found in a small amount near Black’s headquarter and close to where Weiland’s body was discovered in the early morning of Friday, December 4.
Another quantity of cocaine was found in the tour bus bedroom in which Weiland passed away.
The 1992 album Core, featuring radio favorites Creep and Plush was a smash hit, certified eight times platinum and selling more than one million copies in the U.S.
Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, one of Stone Temple Pilots” contemporaries in the “90s alternative revolution, issued a lengthy statement on Weiland’s passing at the group’s website.
Weiland had a long string of drug- and alcohol-related arrests and stints in rehab.
Mr. Weiland went on to front Velvet Revolver, the supergroup that featured former members of Guns N’ Roses, including guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan.
A search warrant was executed by police after the 48-year-old was found dead inside his tour bus in Bloomington, Minnesota, on Thursday night while on tour with his new band, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts.
“Black, age 47, from Studio City, CA was placed under arrest for Probable Cause Felony 5th Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance”.

Ever since the death of Weiland was announced, fans and friends of the singer have paid their condolences to him on Weiland’s Twitter page.
Authorities released no additional information on Weiland’s cause of death, saying it would be released by the local coroner.
Variety reports that Weiland was found unresponsive in Minnesota on his tour bus. He also reflected on his musical legacy and cited Stone Temple Pilots’ Tiny Music… He also spent five months in jail for heroin possession in 1998 and was later charged with domestic abuse for assaulting his then-wife.
Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts released the album “Blaster” in March.

Today, Weiland’s death was felt across the world of music. He is survived by his wife Jamie Wachtel, who is a photographer by profession, and his two children, Noah and Lucy from ex-wife Mary Forsberg.
