He, however, added that the government was yet to decide on banning the broadcast of his ‘Peace TV Bangla’.

The Cabinet committee on law and order took the decision in a special meeting on Sunday, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, who heads the panel, told reporters.

While he claims to be an advocate of interfaith dialogue, his preachings reinforce all the stereotypes which exist against Muslims.

Official sources said “Peace TV” does not have the required permission to be broadcast in India despite which it is distributed by some cable operators.

In India, media regulator Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said Peace TV was not permitted to broadcast in the country. Therefore, the government needs to block his social media, his website, speeches from the YouTube, whatever it is, it should be blocked.

Doctor-turned Naik’s speeches are believed to have inspired some of the Bangladeshi militants, who killed 22 people, mostly foreigners, at an upscale restaurant in Dhaka on July 1.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh also said that it was a matter of serious concern and a probe into funding of Zakir’s NGO has also been ordered.

“I have asked the Mumbai police commissioner to conduct a probe (into Naik’s speeches) and submit a report”, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Thursday.

Mumbai-based Zakir Naik has come under the scanner after it was reported that his speeches have inspired some of the Dhaka cafe attackers.

“A case of sedition should be filed against him and he must be arrested at the earliest”, he said, and also attacked the preacher for seeking support from Muslim community against his “media trials”.

Malay language daily Utusan Malaysia today quoted Salleh saying the ministry is mulling to take action on the portal after it published allegedly “rude” readers’ comments that “offended the sensitivities” of Muslims.

The Intelligence Bureau had red flagged Naik’s Peace TV along with 23 other channels. Followed by a huge number of people across the globe, his Official Facebook page has more than fourteen million fans. Not a single probing agency says that I promote terrorism.
