Bangladesh police kill 3, including suspect in Dhaka attack
On Saturday morning Bangladesh police officials stormed a militant hideout few kilometres away from Dhaka, where three “terrorists” have been shot dead, including Canadian-Bangladeshi Tamim Ahmed Chaudhary who had returned to his country three years ago.

Monirul Islam, chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police counter-terrorism unit, confirmed the news The Daily Star.
Bangladesh-born Canadian citizen Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury, the alleged mastermind of the attack on the cafe, was among those killed, he said.
The cafe attack began on 1 July when the militants entered the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka.
The July 1 attack killed 20 hostages and two police officers.
Chowdhury was also the mentor of the nine militants who were killed in a police operation at Kalyanpur on July 26.
Police had announced 2 million Bangladeshi Taka reward earlier this month for information leading to his arrest.
The police chief had earlier told PTI that Dhaka alerted Indian security agencies against Chowdhury’s possible intrusion to the neighbouring country as a nationwide manhunt was underway to track him down at home.

Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the cafe attack and, while the government has dismissed the claim, security experts say the scale and sophistication of the assault suggested links to trans-national networks. “He is the Gulshan attack mastermind and the leader of JMB (Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh)”, Mr Hossain said.
