Bangladesh police kill alleged militant tied to Dhaka attack
Murad, who, the police say, trained the Gulshan café attackers, was killed during a Friday night raid at Dhaka’s Mirpur. “We raided the house on information that he had rented it”, he said.

According to the official, at least four people including three police officers were injured going to stop him from fleeing.
“Murad was the military commander of Neo JMB and he trained the Gulshan and Sholakia attackers”, Monirul Islam, chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.
Detective Branch Joint Commissioner Abdul Baten said police raided the house in Rupnagar Residential Area around 9.30 p.m. on Friday.
Before the wounds of the July 1 deadly terror attack at a Spanish restaurant in Dhaka, that left 22 people, including 18 foreigners and two police officers dead, had even begun to heal, Bangladesh suffered a fresh blow on July 7 when terrorists attacked Muslims’ Eid prayers.
Police raided the house in Rupnagar also on Thursday but found it locked, bdnews24 reported. “He (Murad) stabbed police officers when they entered the house”.
The injured police officials were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
According to the Daily Star, Bangladeshi investigators also said that Murad was known as an arrogant man and capable of carrying out attacks causing massive destruction.
“We asked the landlord to inform us when the tenant returns”. “He used both of them”, police said.
Nine suspected militants were killed as Bangladesh law enforcers later July conducted a raid on a hideout of banned Islamist outfit JMB in capital Dhaka.
ISIS had claimed responsibility for the cafe attack, but police believe that Neo-Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, which is close to the ISIS, was involved in organising the attack.
The Bangladesh authorities, however, maintain that Tamim led the “Neo-JMB”, which emerged after the JMB split.

“We are trying to arrest them”, he had said.
