As a outcome of these suspensions, Bangladesh are permitted to apply to the ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 Event Technical Committee for approval to replace the two bowlers in the squad for the remainder of the event.

Bangladesh have suffered a blow as bowlers Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed have been suspended due to illegal actions.

But the assessments have shown Sunny’s elbow extension exceeded the 15 per cent level of tolerance on the majority of his deliveries, while not all of Ahmed’s deliveries were found to be legal.

“In accordance with Article 6.1 of the ICC Regulations, Arafat’s and Taskin’s worldwide suspensions will also be recognised and enforced by all the members for domestic cricket events played in their own jurisdiction”, it added.

Following the umpires report, the independent assessments of bowlers action were performed in Chennai.

Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed reacts after bowling out India’s batsman Rohit Sharma during their Cricket World Cup quarter-final match in Melbourne, March 19, 2015.

These two are not the first Bangladesh bowlers to be suspended for an illegal action.

The pair were reported by the match officials for having a suspect bowling action during their ICC World Twenty20 match against Netherlands and underwent an official assessment in Chennai.
