Bank robber who disguised himself as woman captured
A coordinated effort by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in New Orleans and Jacksonville leads to the arrest of a robbery suspect by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Dwanye Winans, disguised a woman with a long wig and bright lipstick, robbed a bank on August 4, police said.
Dwayne A. Winans, aka ‘Butter, ‘ was wanted for the August 4, 2016 bank robber of the Fidelity Bank branch located at 5530 Crowder Blvd.in New Orleans, Louisiana 70127, as well as an armed carjacking in New Orleans on August 12, 2016.
Investigators say Winans wore a long black wig, heavy make-up and female attire when he entered a Fidelity Bank on August 4 and gave a teller a note demanding money. After obtaining cash, police said Winans jumped into a gray four-door Honda with a getaway driver and sped off.
Winans sports an elaborate tattoo and a dollar sign tattoo on his face. The FBI had previously identified him as a person of interest in a string of 2015 robberies of Uptown restaurants, including Monkey Hill Bar, Patois and Atchafalaya.

Officials said Wednesday that he was arrested at the bus station with the help of the FBI Jacksonville Division, New Orleans police and the local Sheriff’s Office.
