Barack Obama hits back at Trump after Putin jibe

But to many female viewers, something else leaped out: Lauer constantly interrupted Hillary Clinton throughout their exchange.

As The New York Times pointed out, other moderators could run into similar issues when the formal presidential debates begin later this month, especially with Trump.

People talk about you and commander-in-chief, and not just Secretary Clinton, but some of your Republican opponents in the primary season, and they wonder about your temperament.

During the NBC News forum Wednesday in which Trump was interviewed separately from Clinton, Trump said he thinks if he is elected and succeeds Obama as president he would have a “very good relationship with Putin”.

Trump has a 58-to-36 percent lead among Florida men and a 59-to-36 percent lead among whites.

Hmm, I’m not sure that I’m accurately getting my point across: when Donald Trump says he “was totally against the war in Iraq” he is saying something that is provably false. “It’s a very different system and I don’t happen to like the system, but certainly, in that system, he’s been a leader, far more than our president has been a leader”.

Donald Trump on Thursday lavished praise on a high-ranking Mexican official whose resignation he characterized as a personal victory less than 24 hours earlier.

“Every time he speaks” he shows why he shouldn’t be commander-in-chief, he said. “Because it suggests he will let Putin do whatever Putin wants to do and then make excuses for him”. Her husband Bill Clinton was President from 1992 to 2000; she voted in favour of Republican President George W. Bush’s war in Iraq in 2003, and from 2008 to 2012, she was Secretary of State. “She tried to make up for her terrible performance last night so she went on the tarmac and told more lies”.

“How can someone like (Lauer) not set the record straight on Trump’s bogus claim of being against the war in Iraq?” tweeted Glenn Kessler, fact-checking at The Washington Post. She also flushed out several national security priorities if she is elected, including trying to take out the leader of the Islamic State and vowing to defeat the extremist group without putting us troops on the ground in Iraq or Syria. The reporters mostly wondered why she wasn’t winning outright, and if Clinton was being treated unfairly because she’s a woman.

The New York businessman, who has struggled at times to demonstrate a command of foreign policy, also seemed to acknowledge he does not now have a plan to address cybersecurity or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group. She also touted the support of numerous Republican national security experts that have chosen to endorse her candidacy, helping bolster her case that Trump is broadly unacceptable.

The Clinton and Trump totals don’t just reflect campaign fundraising; they also include money raised by each candidate’s joint fundraising committees. “I don’t understand the reasons for it”.
