As Barack Obama heads into his final year in the Oval Office, Vice President Joe Biden shared a touching anecdote about how he and the commander-in-chief had become like family.

The offer, recounted in an interview with CNN, came during a private lunch as Biden’s son Beau battled brain cancer. The President “got up and he said, ‘Don’t sell that house”.
President Barack Obama, for his part, also rejected Trump’s campaign as divisive.
The vice president did not sell his house, and he indicated that the president’s financial help ended up not being necessary. Don’t, Joe – promise me.
“I’ve learned never to say no, but I can’t imagine”, he told TODAY’S Savannah Guthrie Tuesday. “‘Whatever you need, I’ll give you the money. Promise me.’ I said, ‘I don’t think we’re going to have to anyway.’ He said, ‘promise me, ‘” Biden continued.
“More than his professional accomplishments, Beau measured himself as a husband, father, son and brother”, Biden said in his initial White House statement on Beau’s passing.
“It’s personal”, Biden said.
“Well, I could imagine it in a Saturday night skit”, Obama said, chuckling.
Mr Biden and Ms Clinton, the former Secretary of State, were often thought of as rivals when both were senior members of the Obama administration.
“Thanksgiving was hard”, Mr Biden said, adding Christmas was similarly wrenching. He died in June that year at the age of 46.
“The idea of an empty chair, you know, was something no one looked forward to”, he said.

At Beau’s funeral, Obama delivered the eulogy in his honor, describing him as a good man who set an example that makes one want to be a better person.
