Barack Obama Plays Golf With Ray Allen and Alonzo Mourning

Rounding out their foursome on the waterside course Saturday were former Ambassador Ron Kirk and civil rights figure Vernon Jordan.

Wanna play golf? Barack Obama and Bill Clinton played 18 holes on Martha’s Vineyard over the weekend while Obama is on vacation on the island with his family.

They got together on the course ahead of a birthday party for Vernon Jordan, a mutual friend and civil rights activist.

It will mark the first time the president and his former secretary of state will have met since March, according to Politico. After her defeat in the primaries he gave his support to Obama.

The property Barack Obama is thought to be returning to for his forthcoming summer holiday is on the market – so if he likes it that much, perhaps he will put in an offer. On Wednesday, the president played a game of golf with National Basketball Association stars Alonzo Mourning and Ray Allen.

The tony New England island retreat was also a favorite vacation spot for President Bill Clinton, who vacationed on the Vineyard all but one year of his presidency. Since then Bill Clinton strongly campaigned for Obama’s re-election in 2012.

Jordan serves as a sort of go-between between the president and the Clintons.

Reporters and photographers covering Obama’s vacation on Martha’s Vineyard are not permitted to attend.

Obama hasn’t tipped his hand on his preference for the party’s presidential nomination, praising both Clinton and Biden effusively.

She will arrive in Martha’s Vineyard from Iowa State Fair, where she insisted that prospective voters don’t care about about her email account. Later in the evening, she hopped over to Nantucket for another fundraiser before hitting the campaign trail again.
