Barbara Bush Takes Jab at Trump in New Video

Rubio pushed back at a recent National Review report that Rubio might shoot for third place in Iowa, second in New Hampshire and first in SC. “Down on his luck, Bush is doing the equivalent of bringing his mother to a job interview to vouch for what a great guy he is”. In a somewhat harmless tweet, Jeb sent a picture of his mom, former First Lady Barbara Bush, in football pads telling Trump, “I’d be careful Donald”.

Meanwhile Coleman is also attacking Republican front-runner Donald Trump… saying he was born into privilege and isn’t the best choice for the G-O-P… Everybody knows that the “elite” wants Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush.

Bush has cut a video ad for her son’s campaign, which is so far only circulating on the Internet but might see broader circulation soon. As the wife and mother of former presidents, she carries weight with the Republican electorate yet is seen as free of political baggage.

The poor numbers for Bush come almost a month after Right to Rise, the super PAC supporting the former Florida governor, made a $25 million ad buy in both Iowa and New Hampshire that aimed to tell “Bush’s story”. According to the campaign, the letter was her idea, and when the campaign fact-checked the statistics she used about his record, they found them all to be accurate.

Bush pulled his punches on Thursday, though.

The magazine said that Trump was risky to the future of American conservatism, to which Jeb said, “I think that they would have all of these distinguished journalists and thought leaders of the conservative cause join together to say that Donald Trump is not a conservative – they’re just telling the truth”.

But he also conceded that it was somewhat unusual for George W. Bush to openly criticize a fellow Republican.

Indeed, Bush can hardly go one day on the campaign trail without getting asked about his parents or his brother. “That’s not strength. That’s just real insecurity and real weakness”.

Starting his speech focused on the military, Bush called for an overhaul of the Veterans Administration, and said the nation needs a serious commander in chief who isn’t afraid to admit it when he needs advice from others.

The New Republic’s Jeet Heer said in response, “There have been many sad moments in Jeb Bush’s ill-fated campaign, but this is surely one of the most pathetic”. Fine. You know who has higher expectations than the conventional wisdom? Me.
