Barbra Streisand recruits Anne Hathaway and Daisy Ridley for At the Ballet
The “Funny Girl” announced last month that she is set to release her 35th studio album “Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway”, as well as launch a 10-city North American tour. “But I took a chance with Daisy and it paid off”.

“I wanted to work with some women on this album, and I thought, ‘Well, give them a little character, have them act (out) scenes, ‘” Streisand explains.
While Hathaway is an Oscar victor because of her performance in the screen adaptation of Les Misérables, Ridley has thus far been known to Hollywood as an action star.
Streisand sings as Sheila while Hathaway plays Maggie and Ridley assumes Bebe.
Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway is set to arrive August 26.
“I was interviewing [her] for Gypsy and I said, ‘Can you sing?’ and she said, ‘Yeah, I can sing, ‘” Streisand recalled.
The Broadway legend also shared the cover of her album and its release date on social media Thursday. The breakout star of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” had been keeping her musical talents a secret, until now. “So, to have my first recording experience with Barbra Streisand is pretty insane”.

Streisand is gearing up for the 70th Tony Awards on Sunday, marking her first appearance at the star-studded show in 46 years.
