Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted to feeling emotional after watching his side thump Barcelona 4-0 at a packed Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
Can was joined by one of Liverpool’s new summer signings in each of the weekend’s friendlies, with Georginio Wijnaldum starting against Barcelona and Marko Grujic fielded at Mainz.
Adam Lallana is excited to see Sadio Mane light up Anfield on a regular basis after a string of impressive pre-season showings for new club Liverpool.
However, former Liverpool defender Carragher feels that the Reds have been afforded the flawless warm-up for that game by beating Barcelona at Wembley.
“We worked a lot on this and it has been paying off, which makes us very happy and shows that it’s worth it”.
“There are enough days for us to prepare, and there is no doubt that we will be competitive, given the difference in fitness levels this is the type of result that you will see”. I said before the game that we had a great chance to win even though we knew it would be a hard game against top opponents.
But he believes things are looking good now Klopp has had his first pre-season with the team to bed in his ideas. Until now we did a really good job. And if we have a proper lineup, which we can have of course for next week, then we will be strong. This work will never stop.
However, Klopp was keen to stress the resounding victory over the Catalans would count for nothing when the English Premier League season gets underway for his team with a trip to Arsenal next Sunday.

“It definitely wasn’t our best day, we made a number of mistakes, especially for the first goal”.
