AS notes Barca will pay €35m up front, as much as €20m more in bonuses and €15m if Gomes wins the Ballon d’Or.

The Portugal midfielder was strongly linked with Real Madrid before the operation collapsed and La Blaugrana swept in, and he will be confirmed a Barca player on Wednesday once the formalities are completed.

The Catalan giants announced an agreement for the deal last week.

Gomes is the club’s fourth summer signing, after French defenders Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne joined from Lyon and Paris St-Germain respectively, and Denis Suarez re-signed after a season at Villarreal.

Gomes has in the past been courted by English club Manchester United after some scintillating performances at the Mestalla.

Valencia could receive up to €70 million following Andre Gomes’ transfer to Barcelona, with the midfielder set to sign a five-year deal.

“The buyout clause in Gomes’ contract has been set at €100 million (R1.6 billion)”.

Earlier this month, Real Madrid were reported to be considering a €65 million bid for the Portugal global, who was part of his country’s Euro 2016-winning squad.
