Barcelona to face Arsenal in first elimination stage
Tottenham, like their London rivals, are set to meet opponents who have eliminated them in recent seasons after they drew Fiorentina in the Europa League last 32 for the second year running.

Arsenal were handed a nightmare draw against reigning champions Barcelona as the Gunners attempt to go beyond the last-16 stage of the Champions League for the first time in six years.
Thiago Silva is confident PSG have what it takes to beat Chelsea and believes their break over the festive period could make the difference. Arsenal are not favorites here, but we don’t consider ourselves outright favorites.
Arsenal recovered from a woeful start to their group as a 3-0 victory at Olympiakos last week sent the Gunners through to the last 16 for the 16th successive season. Here we will be coming up against a fine team who have already won the Champions League.
“They [Kiev] have a good side and it will be hard for us”.
The highlight of the round of 16 line up will be the encounter between Arsenal and Barcelona. “We lacked in those departments last season, so we want to avoid repeating those mistakes”.
While many are predicting Arsenal to exit the Champions League, they will be hopeful that they can compete against the La Liga champions.
“It is not easy and the one to avoid at this stage, but it is up to us and we will give them a game”, Arsenal club secretary David Miles said.
Instant reaction to the draw wasn’t great, with many greeting the tie with a sense of repetition and boredom.
The English club was drawn to face Augsburg, with the first leg on February 18 and the second leg a week later.
Chelsea beat PSG en route to the 2014 semi-finals but lost to them in March in a last-16 tie overshadowed by a racist inicident involving fans on the Paris Metro. “If we see ourselves as favourites things won’t go well for us”, Emilio Butragueño, the Real director, said.
Paris Saint-Germain will play Chelsea; Eindhoven will face Atletico Madrid, Dynamo Kiev will play Manchester City, Gent will face Wolfsburg and finally Benfica will play Zenit St. Petersburg.

The first leg games will be played on February 16 and 17, with return legs taking place on February 23 and 24.
