“They received a call around 3 o’clock saying there was a bomb in the school”.

Mashpee police and firefighters and the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad responded to Mashpee High School for the February 1 bomb threat. There was already a half-day scheduled for the day.

High schools in Lexington, Billerica, and Mashpee took precautions.

According to the school, parents have been e-mailed.

Police and Fire are on the scene and are investigating the threat.

Lexington Superintendent of Schools Mary Czajkowski said the high school was one of several communities to receive a threat Monday and that the threat came in as a pre-recorded message.

The FBI is now leading an investigation into a series of disruptive bomb threats directed at over a dozen local schools earlier this month. The threat is considered “low-level”, he said, and there is no evidence that it was credible. Some schools were evacuated, while others were put on lockdown, and some held classes as usual.
