In addition, Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in pint sizes, with code dates 081518242 and 082418242 is also recalled.
One year after Texas-born Blue Bell returned its ice cream to store shelves following a system-wide recall, the iconic brand is recalling “select products”, again due to Listeria concerns. That’s after intensified internal testing found the cookie dough from Garner, Iowa-based Aspen Hills Inc. potentially tainted. The bacteria can be deadly for the young, sick or elderly. Pregnant women may only have a mild flu-like illness, but listeriosis can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.
The products contain chocolate chip cookie dough and have been distributed in ten states and were produced in the company’s Alabama plant.
Customers with questions can call Blue Bell at 979-836-7977 Monday through Friday until 5 p.m. central. Blue Bell stated that their products in the marketplace have passed the company’s test and hold program, which requires that finished product samples test negative for Listeria monocytogenes.
