Bastian Schweinsteiger: United will be my last club in Europe

Speaking earlier this month, Mourinho said of Schweinsteiger’s club situation: “What is happening is what is happening in every club in the world”.

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has claimed that it is “very bitter and sad” that Bastian Schweinsteiger has been shunned from the first team at Manchester United.

“At such a young age, do I say “Go play in the Under-21s, get used to global football and it will help you hopefully break into the Manchester United team and then the England senior team”?” I’ll be ready when the team needs me.

A member of Germany’s 2014 World Cup-winning team, Schweinsteiger announced his worldwide retirement last month after 120 appearances and 24 goals. That’s all I can say about the current situation.

“I want to thank the fans for the incredible support over recent weeks”, the German wrote on Twitter.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic completed a free transfer to United from Paris Saint-Germain last month before Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed a £30m transfer to Old Trafford.

While the Chinese Super League has become an attractive option to European players seeking a large payday, a move to America makes much more sense.

However, Schweinsteiger ignored the advice and continued to support Ivanovic at tournaments.

There have also been previous rumors linking the midfielder to MLS.

And because the transfer windows in the USA and China don’t reopen until May and June respectively, United could have no choice but to let Schweinsteiger leave for nothing. In other words, they need all the help they can get, in any position.
