The actress passed away in her home in Pacific Palisades, Calif. on Mon. night (Aug. 17), in accordance to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Fight as she did; however, over the past two plus years, she still lost her battle with metastasized breast cancer that had gone to her liver”.
But even beyond those two well-remembered roles, Craig had a long and illustrious career that began as the youngest member of a ballet company.
“Her operation right before Christmas, removed portions of her liver and some tumors as well as her gallbladder (not infected but in the way) and honestly she never totally recovered from that and more malignancies showed up again much to our dismay”.
She joined the TV show in its third and final series in 1967, thwacking and kapow-ing Gotham’s bad guys alongside Batman and Robin.
She appeared opposite Elvis Presley in Kissin’ Cousins and It Happened at the World’s Fair, describing him as “a southern gentleman”.
“I really didn’t think we were making Gone With the Wind”, she said. “She and her sister Meridel became these two of the coolest aunts in my life”.
More recently, Craig provided voices for the Nickelodeon cartoon series Olivia, and was the executive producer on the documentary film Birth. In 2000, she wrote a book of anecdotal memoirs, titled From Ballet to the Batcave and Beyond, which covered some of her years in the ballet and theatrical career. She was adamant about this and wanted to tell her story when she was cured and feeling better.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, and her nephews, Todd and Christopher.
