Batman impersonator dies in US ‘Batmobile’ crash
A man who lived near the eastern U.S. city of Baltimore and thrilled thousands of children by impersonating the fictional hero Batman at hospitals and charity events was struck and killed on a high-speed interstate highway late Sunday. Upon pulling over to inspect the issue, Robinson’s Batmobile was struck by a Toyota Camry, which pushed the Batmobile into Robinson, killing him on the scene. The Batmobile was hit by a Toyota Camry, and the Batmobile then hit Mr Robinson. No charges have been filed and the investigation is still under way, reported the Washington Post.

He was wearing his full Batman costume while driving the Batmobile, which had illegal Batman license plates.
Robinson, 51, gained worldwide recognition after police pulled him over in 2012 while he was fully dressed as the Caped Crusader.
The Dark Knight’s encounter with law enforcement began turning up in millions of Facebook news feeds. The incident even ended up in a Jimmy Fallon monologue. “We take for granted what they have to fight for every single day”, said Robinson. “Also speaking to CNN, the Baltimore based Siani Hospital’s Dr. Joseph M Wiley said, “[Robinson’s actions are] …medically important for the patients… Batman handed out gifts: books, rubber symbol bracelets and other toys. “And that responsibility is to be there for the kids, to be strong for them, and to make them smile as much as I can”. “And the kids would light up”, said Strongin.
Robinson had left for home Sunday afternoon after meeting hundreds of children over the weekend at the city’s Summerfest, two daycare centers and a library. He was always in character, he talked to the kids like Batman. He wasn’t wearing the Batman suit because he was insane, or because he was an actual superhero-though many saw him as such.

But he never wanted the story to be about him or his gadgets: “It was about coming here for the kids”, he said in 2012. RIP Lenny B. Robinson, the “Lambo Batman”. Calling himself more likable since he became Batman, Robinson said his new focus was on helping others. It starts with a little boy dressed as Batman. Lenny Robinson loved being a superhero but, instead of real life crime-fighting, he fought to bring smiles to children’s faces.
