Baton Rouge, La., Shooter Gavin Long Suffered From PTSD

While State Police Col. Mike Edmonson made it clear that police officers were Long’s main target, his motive for attacking police is still somewhat unclear. That, they said, appears to be the case for both Johnson and Long. He was shot dead by a SWAT team officer. But it had to be made.

At the press conference officials said that the bone from his elbow to shoulder was completely shattered and he now has a titanium rod in his arm.

Dr Coe said: ‘I saw there were Gofundme accounts for the other officers but not one for Nick, so I set one up.

Hundreds attended a rally Tuesday night supporting law-enforcement officers at police headquarters, about a mile from where the officers were shot to death Sunday morning.

“I’m not going to say it aligns with this ideology or that, that is in line with people who consider themselves sovereign citizens; people who don’t recognize local authority”, explained Chief of Police Andy Ramirez. He also had prescriptions for Valium and Lunesta.

Long stalked the area, searching, as more 911 calls poured in and officers arrived.

“Not only have we not been taught how to treat our bodies and spirits in order to live a healthy and holistic lifestyle, we have also lost touch with the ancient teachings of our spiritual elders that would help us to live a healthy holistic life in harmony with nature”, he wrote. “From what I’ve seen and what I’ve heard we’re consistently under attack, we’re consistently under scrutiny for every step and every action”. It did, however, draw a few noteworthy residents: José Jackson, the father of slain officer Montrell Jackson, and Sandra Sterling, the aunt who raised Alton Sterling and considered him a son. “Please don’t let hate infect your heart”. This city MUST and WILL get better. The Advocate reports in 2007, Jackson was injured trying to rescue a toddler from a burning building.

Of law enforcement officers, the president said he recognized that “we can no longer ask you to solve issues we refuse to address as a society”. Matthew Gerald, 41, was a former marine and Black Hawk crew leader in the Army. He was part of the Black Hawks. Jackson was a 10-year veteran of the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Garafola’s friends described him as a man committed to public service and devoted to his family. “He loved staying outside and fixing things”. Visitation will begin at noon Saturday at the Istrouma Baptist Church, the sheriff’s office said.

“My deputy went down fighting”.

There, sheriff’s Deputy Nicholas Tullier, 41, had returned to his police auto after getting the license plate from Long’s rental vehicle. He is now in the Intensive Care Unit.

“I took an oath to protect and serve and that’s what I’m going to do”, he said. “He’s not in good shape at all”. The bullet shattered the bone between his shoulder to elbow, where he now has a titanium rod. But when the 45-year-old noticed that his comrade was still alive, he left his cover and approached the officer. However, it is unclear whether Long was diagnosed with PTSD.

“As we bind up our wounds, we must come together to ensure that those who try to divide us do not succeed”.
