Just days before he was shot and killed Sunday morning, a Baton Rouge police officer posted an emotional Facebook message saying he was “physically and emotionally” exhausted and expressing how hard it was to be both a police officer and a black man, a friend said Sunday.

“For the second time in two weeks, police officers who put their lives on the line for ours every day were doing their job when they were killed in a cowardly and reprehensible assault”, Obama said.
The 29-year-old black man served in the Marines from 2005 to 2010, reaching the rank of sergeant. He deployed to Iraq from June 2008 to January 2009, according to military records.
Police said the suspect was shot and killed at the scene.
On Sunday, police received a call of a “suspicious person walking down Airline Highway with an assault rifle”, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN.
Sunday’s incident was the latest in a series of deadly encounters in the United States involving police and black men that have sparked a national debate over race and policing.
Jackson had posted on Facebook on July 8 how physically and emotionally drained he had been since protests had erupted in Baton Rouge after the July 5 killing of Alton Sterling by police.
Over the weekend, thousands of people took to the streets in Baton Rouge to condemn Sterling’s death, including hundreds of demonstrators who congregated outside the police station. L. J. McKneely said “multiple” officers were down.
Missouri court records show that a Gavin Eugene Long filed a petition for divorce from his wife in February 2011.
The officers in Baton Rouge were responding to a call of shots fired on Sunday morning when they were attacked by at least one gunman, Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden said. Three months after the divorce petition was filed, his ex-wife was granted restoration of her maiden name. In uniform I get nasty eight for looks and out of uniform some consider me a threat.
Sine the shooting death of Alton Sterling by Baton Rouge police earlier this month, the department has anxious about credible threats against its officers.
I am exhausted physically and emotionally.

On Sunday afternoon, more than a dozen police cars with lights flashing were massed near a commercial area of auto dealerships and chain restaurants on the highway. The next day, a black gunman in Dallas opened fire on police at a protest about the police shootings, killing five officers and heightening tensions even further.
“My uncle wouldn’t want this”, Carter said. When people you know begin question your integrity you realize they don’t really know you at all.
Rogers and her husband drove near the scene, but were blocked at an intersection closed down by police.

Col. Mike Edmonson told media, “We believe that the person who shot and killed our officers that he was the person that was shot and killed at the scene”. “We just said a prayer in the vehicle for the families”.
