Batshuayi, Zouma and Terry set to start against Peterborough United

This is despite the fact Chelsea lost to League One opposition in the FA Cup as little as two years ago.

Chelsea have no new injuries within their squad and it was confirmed by Antonio Conte in his pre-match press conference, that Captain John Terry and Kurt Zouma were ready to start today’s match against Peterborough and Michy Batshuayi may get his chance as well.

It was a relatively comfortable day for most of Chelsea but John Terry struggled on his 50th career FA Cup appearance.

To say Chelsea felt aggrieved with John Terry’s red card this weekend would be putting it mildly.

Chelsea had John Terry sent off before Tom Nichols gave Posh fans something to cheer by scoring with 20 minutes left.

Willian saw off the tie early in the second period, before the hosts were reduced to ten men with John Terry’s dismissal.

Plymouth manager Derek Adams said: “We are delighted to take them back to Plymouth”. “First of all, [with] this type of decision, it’s important to make this decision together [with] the club and not alone”. After that he played the target man role very effectively to suggest he could be a genuine stand-in for Diego Costa.

It was the second time Cardiff had witnessed the promise of the England Under-17 worldwide – who was born in May 2000 – as Sessegnon scored his first senior goal against them in August.

Peterborough on the other hand are preparing to face up to their biggest test in recent memory against a side two divisions higher than them and world’s apart in terms of financial clout and player quality. It’s a good opportunity to show me he’s in good form. Angol, though, could have made things interesting had he turned home from close range in the ninth minute, but his volley went straight at Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic.

Reports in December suggested the 36-year-old Terry had been told he would not be offered another playing contract when his current deal expires in the summer, and the club said at the time that discussions would take place towards the end of the season.

“Zouma came back after 11 months and played for the 90 minutes. It’s important to see in training sessions if he can also play wing-back”.
