On Friday, the Florida state attorney’s office dropped the charges against Kromer and his son, writing in a statement that the parents of the alleged victims requested that the charges be dropped.

In the meantime, Kromer is on indefinite, paid administrative leave with the Bills.

Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan, left, smiles before the start of practice during an NFL football training camp in Rochester, N.Y., Friday, July 31, 2015. Kromer is alleged to have hit one of the boys in the face after throwing a fishing pole into the water.

Kromer was arrested on July 12 for an incident the previous day in which he allegedly assaulted a child following an argument over the use of beach chairs at Inlet Beach in Walton County, Florida. Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Buffalo also announced the hiring on Pat Meyer as team operations consultant, but he has an offensive line coaching background and will be assisting Anderson.

Rodak followed up that the accusers’ family reached an agreement with the assistant coach and no longer desires to continue with the case.
