They already announced it and won the YouTube battle, now DICE is finally showing the gameplay of the much anticipated Battlefield 1 alongside with a big live multiplayer stream. Operations introduces series of interconnected multiplayer battles across multiple fronts where actions have influence beyond one match. Destructible environments and weapon customisation are present like previous games.

YouTube user jackfrags uploaded some really wonderful Battlefield 1 sniper gameplay footage in 1080p, 60 FPS, featuring the German bolt-action rifle Gewehr 98 in all its glory equipped with a bayonet and sniper scope. Dynamic weather will also see players needing to adapt their tactics, as the elements will have a role in how a battle progresses.

DICE revealed in an update that, “We wanted to create a Battlefield experience that was not just bite-sized, but actually spanned beyond an hour of playtime”.

“Operations offer epic journeys across several maps based upon real battles of World War I. We wanted to offer a large and epic experience with a focus on teamplay and frontline combat”. Heavy rain and fog can impact how you see and hear in the game.

Players will be able to control WW1-era “behemoth vehicles” including zeppelins, armoured trains and battleships. Plus, with the new Behemoths, only in Battlefield 1 can you bring an Air Ship to a dogfight. Insiders also get access to in-game rewards, exclusive content, and sneak peeks at news about Battlefield 1 (plus news about other EA games, services, and events).

Battlefield 1 open beta is coming later this summer.
