Battlefield Hardline gets free competitive matchmaking update

Arriving alongside Battlefield Hardline: Getaway this month will be a Competitive Match system that will open up the ability to “compete in skill-based 5v5 matches, with regularly refreshed seasons, leaderboards, and winners”. Seasons are going to be two-three weeks long, during which Visceral will handle themed map/mode rotation.

While the players skill rating are recalculated per match, it appears that the best players will likely maintain their spot at the top with regular and frequent good performance. To keep a level playing field, players will be matched against those of the same skill set. Do well, and your Skill Rating will go up. When the season concludes, the Top 5 players will be granted an exclusive upgrade to their Kill Card, and the #1 player will be celebrated for all to see.

Visceral Games also says that it is introducing two different leagues in Competitive Match for the shooter, with one of the reserved for those who have a Premium subscription, giving them access to maps and modes that are part of the expansions for the game. As you may know that Battlefield Hardline will receive Getaway DLC later this month, these changes to matchmaking are to going to be applied to the base game alongside its release. So if it’s chase-based, it’s more asymmetric than Hardline’s initial offerings? Releasing on January 12th for Premium subscribers (January 26th for everyone else), the pack recently received a new cinematic trailer to get everyone excited. They need to do this with the M110K5 to earn the $200,000 in-game cash prize.
