This year will be different. Walmart has made it clear that it will offer the Black Friday 2015 deals online throughout Thursday. “Black Friday deals will be available (online) starting Thanksgiving morning at 12:01 am PST (3 am ET)”. No more doorbusters but have no fear, enough stocks of popular items will be available for both online and store shoppers.

Then, Black Friday will begin in stores at 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
Walmart has also seen protests mark its Black Friday sales in recent years, a trend which could continue this year as its workers push for a $15 an hour minimum wage.
The shift reflects an increasingly delicate balance many retailers are navigating around the holidays – how to give shoppers the feeling that they should buy quickly to grab deals, while also offering enticing promotions anytime a customer happens to shop in a store or online for gifts.

Even though sales over the holiday weekend fell 11 percent previous year after people did more shopping earlier in the month, the NRF said overall holiday spending was up 4.1 percent.
This year Walmart said it was focused on stocking its stores with the products shoppers wanted most.

Target will open stores at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, just like past year. Steps have been taken to cut down on the possibility, such as regulated lines for various items, and the necessity of taking a number to ensure you get what you came for before supplies run out. Another added bonus is the fact that online retailers will sometimes push their sales forward before Black Friday so that customers can have early access to this momentous day.
