With Bayern Munich due to visit Arsenal in the Champions League next week, it’s been revealed that one of the German club’s supporters groups are set to protest at the “excessive” ticket prices.

A statement made on the group’s Facebook page ‘Without Fans Football is not worth a Penny’, said: “Such pricing makes young and socially disadvantaged fans to stadium visitors impossible, destroyed the fan culture medium and thus the basis of football”.
Badstuber had already resumed individual training and he has now taken the next step in his recovery process, joining his team-mates for parts of squad training on Thursday.
The group is furious that they are going to pay £64 for the cheapest ticket of the game while a Bayern Munich season ticket costs just £104.
‘The first five minutes of the game in London will be, what future football will look like if this madness continues. Huge gaps in the stands and no atmosphere or emotions whatsoever in the stadium. “We then want to show in the subsequent 85 minutes what the alternative is and what it means to have a lively fan culture in football”. It concerns all of us!
The fans’ protest is not only about the price of tickets in England, but all over the continent, citing the ticket prices for the group games against Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb. It’s the Gunners who charge the most expensive matchday ticket (£97) and season ticket (£2,013).
The row over ticket prices has returned to the news again recently.
“We express our support for campaigns like “20’s Plenty” from England and “Kein Zwanni” in Germany”. But as prices have been hiked up, the matchday demographic has been shifted, and as a result, the noise in grounds has slowly been deteriorating over the years.

Hopefully, the actions of the Bayern fans strike a chord with a few in England, and initiatives looking to keep costs down for the average supporter will grow in prominence.
