Manchester City have been strongly linked with a deal to recruit two-time Champions League winning coach Guardiola, while Manchester United and Chelsea are also believed to be keen to hire the 44-year-old tactician.
Head coach Pep Guardiola of Bayern gestures with Jerome Boateng during the a press conference at National Stadium in day 1 of the FC Bayern Audi China Summer Pre-Season Tour on July 17, 2015 in Beijing, China.
Pep Guardiola has confirmed he will make a decision over his future with Bayern Munich in the next week.
“It’s not planned to push back that date”, said Rummenigge. “We just keep going”, he said.
From Spain’s Marca, who ran a headline reading, “Pep Guardiola asks for the bill” to the more succinct German daily Sport Bild who splashed “Guardiola has decided!” at the top of their report, all signs, now, point to Guardiola’s departure from the German champions. “But the talks will be held after the Hannover match, and we’ll then announce a decision”. He was even discussing whether the job might come up at recent coaching conferences. City appointed former Barcelona executives Ferran Sorriano and Txiki Begiristain in autumn 2012 as chief executive and director of football respectively.
Manchester United is another club thought to be interested in Guardiola, with the Louis van Gaal experiment continuing to stutter, but the Red Devils seem to be lagging in the race to sign him, despite it being widely acknowledged that Pep would prefer a move to Old Trafford. As for Bayern, they will have Carlo Ancelotti who is one of the best managers available.
They have also reached the Champions League semi-finals in Guardiola’s two seasons although victory in the competition he won with Barcelona has so far eluded him in Munich.
