Bayern Munich Pair Can’t Wait For Borussia Dortmund Clash

On Sunday, the two will be in opposing dugouts as Bayern welcome Borussia Dortmund – a fixture known in Germany as “Der Klassiker“. Bayern creates an incredible volume of fantastic scoring opportunities and Lewandowski’s actually missing as many of them as you’d expect a slightly above-average, but not great striker to miss.

Bayern will be brimming with confidence heading into Sunday’s encounter.

Wolfsburg, occupying fourth place, have a potentially tricky affair with Borussia Monchengladbach, action of which will be live on World Football channel on StarTimes.

Now, Dortmund is challenging Bayern for that top spot.

Between them, the fleet-footed strikers have bagged 19 Bundesliga goals after seven matches this season and are battling for the “Golden Cannon” – the award handed to the Bundesliga’s top-scorer.

This was the second point for PAOK in as many games.

This Bayern/Dortmund game on Sunday in addition to their return leg on March 5 will be something of a playoff final to see who wins the Bundesliga.

“Embarrassing scenes” played out after the half time whistle during Thursday’s match in Thessaloniki’s Tuomba stadium, said BVB sport director Michael Zorc. The coach of the German champions, Pep Guardiola, has never regarded a tall, target-man type of centre-forward as essential, and last week urged Lewandowski to contribute more outside the penalty area. There’s Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the aliens, in one class. There’s everyone else, the humans, in another.

Aubameyang is now on nine, stretching back to last season, and at the current rate, the 26-year-old will surpass the 20-goal target he set himself for this season. The players were treated to a few of the annual Oktoberfest celebrations on Wednesday.

Dortmund have made an impressive start to life after Jurgen Klopp and Riedle took time to praise new boss Thomas Tuchel.

Nineteen-year-old Leroy Sane is the latest exciting player to emerge from the club’s youth setup, scoring in three consecutive league games to hamper Breitenreiter’s efforts to keep expectations low.

One of the biggest games of the Bundesliga will take place this Sunday at 11:30 AM ET on FS2.

Tuchel will still be without Nuri Sahin and Erik Durm due to injury, yet Neven Subotic is fit again after making his comeback from a back injury versus PAOK. Both sides will be hoping to announce themselves as title favorites after a promising start.
