Mats Hummels says he is surprised by the outrage shown by some Borussia Dortmund fans towards his move to Bayern Munich.

Davide Ancelotti may have very little coaching experience but the 27-year-old has landed the role under his old man’s stewardship.

The Italian is a former youth player at AC Milan but after failing to make the grade at the Serie A outfit, he turned to sports science and graduated with a degree in the subject.

Bayern confirmed on their official website that the midfielder is training with his teammates ahead of their season opener with Werder Bremen on Friday.

This qualification helped land the youngster a job as a fitness coach at Real Madrid during his father’s tenure as head coach.

But following Ancelotti Snr’s appointment as the new Bayern boss, Davide has followed his father to Germany. But after intensive tuition in German over the past eight months, Davide has already been elevated to assistant coach status.

He broke through into the German mainstream when he released his debut solo album Wenn Worte meine Sprache wären (‘If words were my language’) in 2011 and released his second album – Am seidenen Faden (‘Hanging by a thread’) – in 2013.
