The Big 12 delivered the biggest fireworks show when Oklahoma shocked #6 Baylor. What most people aren’t seeing is that the committee evaluated the Frogs based on how the team plays without Trevone Boykin. If anything, the Texas loss benefits the Sooners – there’s no tug-of-war going on between Oklahoma and another Playoff contender as a result of a head-to-head outcome, as was the case for TCU and Baylor a season ago.
For Baylor to hold on to this lead and leave with their first Stillwater win since 1939, they must play better on the offensive side and take advantage of the defense’s great play. The first was shrouded in controversy amongst Baylor fans. Ohio State faces MI State tonight in its first big test of the season, with both teams in the top 10 in the playoff rankings.

With a college football playoffs spot on the line, the powerhouses of Big 12 Conference have to collide.
My players of the game are easy. Ultimately, the decision to join a Power 5 conference comes down to revenue, not competition. The top four Big 12 teams own a 58.7 strength of schedule average in this week’s Sagarin Ratings. It didn’t beef up its nonconference scheduling, or ask the NCAA for a waiver that would allow it to host a championship game with only 10 teams. Say Ohio State beats MI State this weekend, then loses to MI.

Remember going absolutely insane when Paul Dawson picked off Trevor Knight for the winning score against Oklahoma last season. Johnson found Jay Lee for a 39-yard touchdown and then topped that by hooking up with KD Cannon for a 71-yard score. This team has given us so much to be proud of. 6 Baylor last week.
