Baylor’s Win vs. Oklahoma State Provides a few Big 12 Clarity
The Cowboys can clinch at least a share of the Big 12 title with a win.

What they did: The same thing they always do: win, this time against Purdue. “They told me, ‘Just do what you do and you’ll be fine'”.
As for the defense of Ohio State, well, they haven’t disappointed. They’ll need to do better to help slow Ogbah. Win the Big Ten and the reward should be a spot in the College Football Playoff.
The Big 12 now has a three-team logjam atop the conference with Baylor, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State all carrying one loss.
Especially not with the Bears lengthening a first-half lead with a third-string quarterback. The Cowboys will drop, but it’ll still have a chance at ranking redemption against Oklahoma.
The Cowboys have been living dangerously, and it finally caught up with them. If Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State, the Frogs are Big 12 champions. Even then, it might not finish in the top four because its strength of schedule would be a cause for concern.
UCONN 20, No. 13 HOUSTON 17: In East Hartford, Connecticut, Noel Thomas caught two touchdown passes, including a 45-yarder on a trick play in the fourth quarter, and the Huskies (6-5, 4-3 American Athletic Conference) beat the Cougars. It wasn’t supposed to go so well for MI State on Saturday night.
This time, however, the Bears started fast and finished strong, earning a statement win while upsets across the nation continue to keep playoff possibilities fluid. Saturday’s game is at noon Eastern on ABC. The team that was unbeaten last week before losing at home in the pouring rain rolled into this snakepit of sub-freezing temperatures and took care of the last unbeaten team in its conference. He hobbled behind his giddy teammates up the concrete ramp that leads from the field to Baylor’s locker room. Notre Dame’s best wins are against Temple, Navy and Pitt. For Oklahoma, their path to being named Big 12 champs and potentially a College Football Playoff (CFP) team is simple, beat TCU and beat Oklahoma State. Do not make the mistake of betting them for the whole game, just do the second half. Marcell Ateman has 33 catches for 590 yards and 5 touchdowns.
MI State at Ohio State (3:30 p.m., ABC): The Spartans’ “interesting” loss to Nebraska took a few of the shine off of this one. The Buckeyes likely lost their shot at defending their national title. These two teams together are averaging 98.4 points per game, Baylor has the edge at 54.8 but regardless these teams are used to putting points on the board.
OSU has won 12 straight games, with their last loss coming to Baylor last season.
Jarrett Stidham went deep to Corey Coleman for a gain of 48 yards, setting up a 6-yard touchdown run by Shock Linwood to give Baylor a 7-0 lead with 14:04 to play in the first quarter.
We’ve seen this before…: In Oklahoma State’s 10-0 start, the Cowboys have trailed in the second half to Central MI, Texas, Kansas State, Texas Tech and Iowa State.
The rub: all three of those teams – Ohio State, MI State and Florida – will be ranked ahead of Baylor in next week’s CFP poll.
Baylor was a 1.5 point favorite against Oklahoma and the total was 76.

Even with just two weeks left in the regular season, there’s no way of knowing who is going to make the College Football Playoff. Two dominant victories over ranked SEC foes have propelled Alabama to a 9-1 record and pole position in the SEC West division. They are a very balanced team and have proven their toughness in close wins over Notre Dame and Louisville.
